Job summary

MTSI seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead IR sensing programs at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. You will guide architecture, system models, and integration of IR payloads for USAF platforms, coordinating with program offices, industry partners, and cross‑functional teams.

You will conduct analyses, evaluate designs, manage technical baselines, and support readiness reviews while ensuring mission assurance and interoperability across the system of systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in systems engineering or similar roles.
• Experience working in a DoD program or product acquisition environment.
• Have at least 3 years in SAP/SCI environments within the last 5 years.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Guide system engineering efforts for advanced IR sensing capabilities and architecture development.
• Evaluate vendor IR system designs, detectors, optical assemblies, and integration plans.
• Collaborate with government, industry and multidisciplinary teams to meet DoD standards.
• Support trade studies, readiness reviews, and technical documentation.
• Maintain awareness of emerging IR sensing technologies and digital engineering practices.
