Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer with Integrated Product Team management to lead cross‑functional hardware engineering for missile guidance and flight avionics.

You will guide teams through design, analysis, requirements development, and testing across programs, with a focus on delivering robust electronic subsystems. The role demands a STEM degree with 10+ years in flight avionics, a US security clearance, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in flight avionics with electrical hardware development, sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development and/or requirement validation.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Desirable background includes missile guidance electronics subsystems, project management, systems engineering and architecture, MBSE knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Guide a cross‑functional team through multiple phases of hardware systems lifecycle, architecture and testing.
• Architect new electronic systems and develop subsystem requirements and test plans.
• Perform peer reviews as SME; present to peers, management, and government customers.
• Lead root‑cause failure investigations and collaborate with suppliers.
• Support multiple programs and may require some travel.
