Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Specialist to contribute to an advanced IPC service across the Trust. The role involves expert clinical advice, driving improvements in practice, staff education, and ensuring high standards of infection prevention and control.

You will work within the IPCT, provide ward-based IPC support, and collaborate with antimicrobial stewardship and microbiology teams to minimise infection risks and support

Qualifications

• Experience in Infection Prevention and Control
• Knowledge of PSIRF and governance requirements
• Ability to provide expert clinical advice and education

Responsibilities

• Investigate, control and monitor outbreaks and infection clusters within the Trust.
• Provide ward-based IPC services and daily ward rounds.
• Lead, mentor and line-manage junior IPCN colleagues.
• Provide specialist advice to site teams on isolation facilities and IPC policies.
• Collaborate with microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship and clinical services to reduce resistance.
