Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior legal professional to provide strategic guidance on patent law, open source governance, and regulatory compliance. You will align legal strategies with business objectives and lead efforts across internal teams and external counsel.

You will counsel on complex IP matters, review open source requests, and contribute to risk mitigation and compliance programs while supporting product roadmaps across business units.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active law license in at least one state.
• Registered USPTO patent attorney with patent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance by analyzing business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Support intellectual property risk mitigation efforts and patent-related matters.
• Counsel on patent law, open source software governance, and related policies.
• Understand product roadmaps and Walmart segment priorities.
• Develop patent/IP strategies for key initiatives.
• Review open source software requests and shepherd compliance efforts.
• Manage relationships with internal clients and external counsel.
• Promote ethical standards and compliance across teams.
• Lead continuous improvement by integrating legal insights into decisions.
