The role supports risk mitigation, training, and cross-functional partnerships to align legal strategies with Walmart’s goals, while upholding ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• 5 years' experience in law.
• License to practice law in at least one state.
• Experience counseling on patent matters and open source governance.

Responsibilities

• Counsel on patent law, open source governance, and related policies.
• Develop IP strategies aligned with product roadmaps and initiatives.
• Review contracts and manage external counsel to mitigate risks.
• Promote ethics and compliance, driving integrity across teams.
• Lead continuous improvement by integrating legal insights into business decisions.
