Job summary
Dow Chemical Co. is seeking a Senior IP Counsel in its Commercial & Innovation Law group, located in Lake Jackson, TX or Midland, MI. You will provide practical IP counsel across patents, trade secrets, licensing and technology development to support Dow’s Packaging & Specialty Plastics business.
The role emphasizes strategic IP planning, portfolio management, and collaboration with business and technology teams to enable innovation and protect assets. Domestic relocation assistance is available.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor or Master of Laws (required).
- 4+ years practicing IP law, in-house or at a major law firm.
- Admission to State Bar; eligible for admission.
- U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide counsel on IP topics, including patents, trade secrets, licensing, technology development and IP transactions.
- Review, draft and negotiate technology agreements and IP-related contracts.
- Identify IP risks and opportunities, and help align strategy with business objectives.
- Develop and manage patent portfolios and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Educate and train clients on IP risk mitigation and processes.
