Job summary

T-Mobile is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Bellevue, WA to design and build cloud-native, scalable systems for millions of IoT devices. You will develop real-time data pipelines, manage data storage, and ensure reliability across distributed components using Kubernetes, Azure, and modern DevOps practices.

You will collaborate across teams, enhance performance, and apply new tools to improve efficiency. This role requires deep systems knowledge, strong communication, and a drive to deliver

Qualifications

• PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
• ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems that allow millions of connected IoT devices to send and receive data securely using cloud services.
• Develop and support software that handles large volumes of information being transmitted in real time from remote IoT devices.
• Create software solutions to organize, store, and retrieve different types of data effectively for business use.
• Build system components that can grow easily as the number of devices or users increases, without slowing down or failing.
• Set up automated processes that help deliver software updates and infrastructure changes quickly and reliably.
• Monitor the health, speed, and reliability of systems and take action when issues are detected.
• Work closely with other teams to understand business needs and turn them into working software solutions.
• Provide guidance on how to build and maintain large-scale systems that meet business, technical, and security standards.
• Research and apply new tools and techniques that make systems better, faster, and easier to manage.
• Write documentation and share knowledge with other engineers to support teamwork and long-term success.
