Job summary

HTC Global Services, Inc. seeks an accomplished senior software engineer to design and build distributed, event-driven backend services for a large ecommerce platform. You will drive long-running workflows with Temporal, integrate Kafka-driven events, and deploy on Azure with AKS and related services.

You will mentor developers, participate in architecture decisions, and promote best practices across CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native design. Remote work from home is supported.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in .NET/C# including ASP.NET Core and .NET 6+ (eng. req).
• Experience with Apache Kafka including schema registry, partitioning and consumer groups.
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration engines for durable long-running processes.
• Strong background building and operating microservices on Microsoft Azure (AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (idempotency, eventual consistency, retries).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB).
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and Terraform/Bicep for IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET/C# and ASP.NET Core for order management, inventory, and fulfillment workflows.
• Model and implement long-running, stateful business processes using Temporal for durable execution.
• Ensure workflow durability with retries and compensation logic.
• Produce and consume events with Apache Kafka; design topics and schemas for high throughput.
• Architect and deploy services on Azure (AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs, API Management).
• Follow cloud-native and infrastructure-as-code practices; write clean, well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Diagnose production issues across distributed services (ordering, idempotency, eventual consistency).
• Collaborate with Product Owners and QA to translate requirements into robust designs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and observability; promote engineering best practices.
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers; raise technical bar across team.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., applied AI/LLM) for platform enhancement.
