Job summary

Speria in Atlanta is seeking a Senior IoT Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve our software platform. You will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable solutions spanning cloud, IoT, mobile, and analytics.

This role involves collaborating with product, UX, QA, and data teams, implementing Azure-based cloud-native services, improving reliability, and driving engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Eng, or related field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience with C# and .NET stack.
Strong experience with TypeScript and Angular.
Cloud-native design on Microsoft Azure.
Experience designing REST APIs and distributed architectures.
Experience with IoT platforms and connected hardware.
Experience with containers and modern deployment practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, mobile applications, APIs, shared libraries, and internal engineering tools.
Build solutions that support connected devices, telemetry processing, real-time operational workflows, analytics, notifications, and business-critical decision making.
Own the design, implementation, and long-term evolution of key platform components and services.
Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Collaborate with Product Management, UX, QA, Support, Data, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality customer solutions.
Design and implement cloud-native applications and services using Microsoft Azure and modern software engineering practices.
Improve platform performance through system optimization, observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and proactive engineering improvements.
Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.
Participate in production support activities, root cause investigations, and corrective actions to maintain platform reliability and customer trust.
Lead implementation efforts for complex technical initiatives that span multiple systems, teams, and business domains.
Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving.
Help establish and evolve engineering standards, development practices, and architectural principles across the organization.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
Contribute to a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
