Job summary

Hexmodal Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of IoT product electronics in NYC. You will design system architecture, PCBA designs, and RF circuitry, collaborating with firmware and manufacturing teams to scale from concept to mass production.

You will lead V&V, regulatory testing, and RMA root-cause analysis while driving continuous improvements for reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8-12+ years of experience in electrical/hardware engineering with high-volume IoT design.
• Experience designing wireless, battery-operated IoT devices.
• Experience designing AC mains-powered devices.
• Strong RF circuit design with MCUs.
• Hands-on with UART, SPI, I2C, DCMI and similar interfaces.
• Sensor integration (temp, humidity, pressure, etc.) in product designs.
• Electromechanical integration of PCBAs into housings.
• DFT & V&V in high-volume manufacturing.
• Regulatory compliance testing and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Own system architecture and circuit design for IoT products (battery and mains powered).
• Design PCBAs with MCUs, digital circuitry, and sub-1GHz RF.
• Lead DFM and DFT practices for high-volume manufacturing.
• Oversee V&V testing across electrical, environmental, and reliability domains.
• Manage FCC/CE/UL/IC and related regulatory testing.
• Prototype and bring-up, including soldering and lab measurements.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering on electromechanical integration.
• Partner with firmware for hardware/firmware interface and debug.
• Support NPI and work with CM/test operators to scale production.
• Own RMA process and perform root-cause analyses to resolve field defects.
