Job summary

Hexmodal seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of IoT product electronics in NYC. You will lead system architecture, PCBA design, verification, and manufacturing readiness, collaborating with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

The role entails hands-on bring-up, regulatory testing, and field issue resolution, reporting to the Head of Hardware Engineering. This is an in-person, full-time role in New York City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering.
• 8-12+ years of professional experience in electrical/hardware engineering, with high-volume IoT product focus.
• Experience designing wireless, battery-operated IoT devices and AC mains-powered electronics.
• Strong knowledge of digital and sub-1GHz RF circuits with MCUs.
• Hands-on lab skills: soldering, multimeters, oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Own system architecture and circuit design for IoT products, including battery-operated and mains-powered devices.
• Design and develop PCBA with MCUs and RF circuitry; interface with UART, SPI, I2C, DCMI.
• Lead V&V testing across electrical, functional and environmental domains.
• Drive DFx practices for high-volume manufacturing and NPI support.
• Manage regulatory testing and certifications (FCC, CE, UL, IC).
