Job summary

Luxer One is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer in Sacramento, CA to own firmware architecture for locker control boards, IoT gateways, and related hardware. You will drive end-to-end development from bring-up to production, including OTA updates and field reliability.

You will work cross-functionally with electrical engineers and manufacturing partners, contribute to architecture decisions, and leverage AI tools to improve documentation, debugging, and status reporting.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of firmware or embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ in an embedded context.
• Experience with wireless connectivity in embedded products (BLE/WiFi/cellular).
• OTA update design and implementation with safe rollback.
• Hardware bring-up and debugging with test equipment.
• Ability to produce technical specifications and architecture documents.
• Demonstrated AI fluency in engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware architecture and delivery for Luxer One's embedded hardware portfolio, including boards and gateways.
• Design and implement firmware from ground up on new hardware programs: architecture decisions, bring-up, RTOS integration, production readiness.
• Build and maintain OTA update pipelines and device management integration: enrollment, provisioning, telemetry.
• Partner with electrical engineers and manufacturing on hardware design review, NPI readiness, production validation.
• Write and maintain hardware specifications, architecture docs, and technical docs.
• Maintain and improve reliability of devices in the field; monitor telemetry and deploy patches.
