Voltus is hiring a Senior Engineer for our edge technology team. You will help develop cloud architecture and IoT fleet management solutions, while advancing device firmware for thousands of units. Collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture.

The role emphasizes production systems in Python/Go, AWS, and Linux, with a focus on uptime, data flows, and remote connectivity. Remote-first with strong collaboration and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a code-contributing engineer.
• Experience building production systems in Python, Go, or similar high-level language.
• Experience using AWS and Postgres or similar RDBMS.
• Knowledge of Linux-based systems.
• Basic knowledge of electronics and Raspberry Pi/Arduino-style technologies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Authorization to work in US or Canada without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own all technology aspects of Voltus IoT infrastructure including device software/firmware, cloud infrastructure, fleet management, and remote connectivity implementations.
• Maintain uptime and quality for our fleet of devices.
• Develop and maintain device firmware and cloud architecture to manage thousands of devices.
• Coordinate with customers, field support, and manufacturing teams for improvements.
• Lead remote software updates and fleet-management solutions.
