Reddit is seeking a Principal Engineer to own and scale the iOS platform architecture for the Reddit mobile app, targeting 100M+ daily active users. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and drive performance-focused development across the team.

You will lead redesigns, improve modularity and observability, and partner with design, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality user experiences globally. This role emphasizes strategic thinking and long-term technical foundations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years in designing and developing iOS applications.
• Experience influencing large organizations on iOS technical direction and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Reddit’s iOS Mobile App and scale to 100M+ DAUs.
• Lead redesign to improve modularity, performance, and quality of the iOS platform.
• Define and drive key performance goals (ANR, launch time, smooth frames).
• Improve observability and data quality with telemetry, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Mentor iOS engineers and serve as a go-to for complex iOS architecture problems.
