Job summary

Grafana Labs is hiring for a mobile observability engineer to build and evolve iOS SDKs (Swift/Obj-C), with optional Android support. You will design features, ensure performance, and integrate with OpenTelemetry.

You’ll mentor teammates, contribute to open source, and collaborate with backend, frontend, and solutions teams in a fully remote, global environment. RSUs are offered and compensation ranges reflect Spain market.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building or maintaining mobile SDKs or platform libraries.
• Strong mobile engineering experience with iOS and optional Android.
• Experience with performance-sensitive code and telemetry libraries.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve mobile instrumentation SDKs for iOS (Swift/Obj-C).
• Design and ship SDK features such as session tracking, crash reporting, sampling strategies, and OpenTelemetry integrations.
• Own projects end-to-end.
• Break large, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables: design modular solutions, ship MVPs, gather feedback, iterate quickly.
• Ensure quality: automated tests, CI, documentation, upgrade paths.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering.
• Engage with open-source community: review PRs, discuss proposals, guide contributors.
• Mentor teammates, participate in technical design and roadmaps.
