WHOOP is seeking an experienced iOS Software Engineer to join the Connectivity Software Team in Boston. You will design and implement software that enables WHOOP’s wearable sensors to communicate with the iOS app and cloud, focusing on robust BLE, Wi‑Fi, and other protocols.

You’ll build background services, optimize performance and power efficiency, and collaborate with embedded firmware, mobile, and cloud engineers to keep data flowing reliably across the ecosystem.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional iOS software engineering experience with Swift, iOS system APIs, concurrency, and memory management.
• BS or MS in CS, EE, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent collaboration and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to embracing AI tools in day-to-day tasks with high-quality output.
• Hands-on experience with Swift 6 Concurrency and background task processing for non-UI features.

Responsabilidades

• Leverage Swift and Combine to build reactive pipelines for connectivity and data management.

• Document features and architecture using Jira and Confluence; manage code with GitHub branches.
• Participate in release processes including building the app, signing, testing, and App Store submission.
• Improve performance, power efficiency, and reliability of the connectivity layer.
• Adhere to strong software architectural principles for scalable, maintainable code.

• The Connectivity Software Team builds the critical link between WHOOP hardware, the iOS app, and the cloud. As an iOS Software Engineer on this team, you’ll design and implement the software that enables WHOOP’s wearable sensors to communicate seamlessly with the mobile platform
• You’ll develop and optimize connectivity experiences that are robust, efficient, and invisible to the member — ensuring reliable data flow across our entire ecosystem
• Design, implement, and maintain iOS application components that interface directly with WHOOP hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, or other communication protocols
• Develop background and system-level iOS services that ensure reliable device connectivity, synchronization, and data transfer
• Leverage Swift and Combine to build resilient, efficient, and maintainable reactive pipelines for connectivity and data management
• Collaborate closely with embedded firmware, mobile, and cloud engineers to diagnose and resolve issues across a distributed system
• Drive continuous improvement of performance, power efficiency, and reliability in the WHOOP connectivity layer
• Champion strong software architectural principles for testable, scalable, maintainable software on your own team and across the organization
• Document new features and architecture using Jira, Confluence and preparing code using Github feature, develop, and master branches
• Participate in the release process including getting the app built, managing build variants, signing, sending and testing through Firebase, and submitting to the App store

• Demonstrated examples applying architectural and platform-based software design principals to build scalable, modular, testable software
• Experience debugging and diagnosing issues across complex or distributed systems (for example: firmware, mobile, backend) is a strong plus
• 3+ years of professional iOS software engineering experience with a solid foundation in Swift, iOS system APIs, concurrency, and memory management
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a focus on cross-functional problem solving
