Job summary

Block is seeking a Senior iOS engineer for the Neighborhoods team to drive mobile experiences across Cash App and Square Point of Sale, leading cross‑team architecture while staying hands‑on with SwiftUI and related technologies.

You will champion AI‑native product engineering, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers and designers to define scope, sequence work, and deliver reliable, scalable features for local commerce.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of iOS engineering design and implementation experience including Swift and Objective-C
• Experience leading iOS architecture with unidirectional data flow, declarative UI frameworks, and scalable patterns
• Proven ability to lead cross-team mobile initiatives and mentor engineers to raise impact
• Experience delivering complex mobile solutions across platforms and collaborating with product/design teams
• Demonstrated judgment in applying AI tooling to improve speed, quality, and learning

Responsibilities

• Lead major Neighborhoods mobile workstreams across Cash App and Square
• Drive cross-team architecture to deliver loyalty, marketing, and ordering features
• Shape mobile systems connecting customer discovery with seller ordering and fulfillment
• Hands-on iOS development using SwiftUI, UIKit, and related technologies
• Mentor engineers and raise technical bar while collaborating with product managers and designers
• Define product scope and sequence ambiguous work with clear tradeoffs
