Job summary

NewsBreak is hiring an iOS ad engineer to own the end-to-end ad experience in our app and publisher SDKs. You will ensure ads load, render, and perform reliably across rich-media and native formats, while maintaining viewability, billing signals, and cross-network mediation.

You’ll work with product and QA to diagnose issues, upgrade external ad SDKs, and validate experiments to prove revenue impact. This role is based in Mountain View with competitive base pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production iOS development in Swift and/or Objective-C.
• Owned a meaningful module end to end — design, implementation, launch and post-launch.
• Experience with ad rendering standards such as MRAID or OMID or similar.
• Strong debugging instincts with limited logs and unknown source code.
• Familiar with using AI coding assistants in normal workflow and knowing when to override them.
• Data-driven mindset with ability to reason about metric movements.
• Clear communicator comfortable working with product, QA and other non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain iOS ad functionality across the app and publisher SDK.
• Own ad rendering, display and performance for rich-media and native formats.
• Maintain viewability and accuracy of impressions, clicks and billing signals.
• Manage client-side mediation layer: requests, prioritization, caching and fallbacks.
• Integrate and maintain external ad SDKs (Google, Meta) with upgrades and tradeoffs.
• Maintain production health of the iOS ad stack and diagnose vendor SDK issues.
• Measure impact behind experiments and present results.
