Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team. You will lead the test automation strategy across unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing, collaborating closely with product engineers to develop and maintain test tools, write and test product code, and guide designs for modular, testable systems.

You will thrive on understanding complex systems, working across technologies, and guiding cross-functional teams to scale quality engineering processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing and automation experience.
• Proficiency in Swift and XCUITest.
• Hands-on automation tools, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Strong communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the test automation strategy across unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Build, maintain, and use automated tests and test tools with product engineering teams.
• Improve existing automation frameworks to support new features and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with CI/CD teams to integrate automated testing into pipelines.
• Troubleshoot issues, reproduce bugs, and verify fixes across releases.
• Contribute to code quality and modularity across multiple tech stacks.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
