Job summary

Smart IMS Inc is seeking a Senior iOS & Android Mobile Developer to lead native mobile projects onsite in Austin, TX. You will design, build, test, and support enterprise-grade apps with a focus on performance, security, and scalable architectures.

The role requires 7+ years in native Android development, strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose skills, experience with REST APIs, CI/CD, and Agile delivery. This contract spans six months with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of native Android development for enterprise-scale apps.

• Experience with REST APIs and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Leadership in code/design reviews and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality native mobile applications and features.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, designers, and engineering teams to deliver business requirements.

Job Description:

As an iOS & Android Mobile Developer, you will design, develop, and support enterprise-grade mobile applications that deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance user experiences. This role requires deep expertise in native mobile development, modern architecture patterns, Agile delivery practices, and technical leadership to drive the successful delivery of complex mobile solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional native Android development experience delivering enterprise-scale mobile applications.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Android Jetpack Libraries, and Gradle.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, mobile integrations, and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Experience working in Agile environments with sprint planning, estimation, release planning, and cross-team collaboration.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and engineering governance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release automation, and mobile application lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of feature flags, staged rollouts, analytics, crash reporting, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills; experience in highly regulated or high-availability environments is preferred.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
