Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MBA or Finance certification preferred.
• In-depth / expert understanding of portfolio management principles and asset mix determination.
• In-depth / expert understanding of fiduciary law and applicability to trust investment accounts.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of equity and fixed income markets.
• In-depth / expert understanding of tax-related issues affecting investments.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of the regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops internal and external networks and referral sources to grow business in the assigned portfolio / jurisdiction.
• Enhances marketplace presence by collaborating with experts to create integrated strategies.
• Develops investment proposals and participates in meetings with prospects/clients.
• Provides investment management, fiduciary leadership for business, products, and policies.
• Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
• Acts as a subject matter expert on regulations and policies.
• Leads development of the communication strategy focusing on influencing behaviour.
• Leads the execution of operational programs; ensures quality of execution.
• Reviews the program for effectiveness and recommends enhancements.
• Identifies business needs, designs tools and training programs.
