Job summary

Texas Regional Bank is seeking a Director of Investments to lead securities research and portfolio construction for HNW and UHNW clients. You will design long-term portfolios, communicate with internal partners, and drive trust and wealth management initiatives in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial setting.

The role requires collaboration with trust officers, relationship managers, and bankers to deliver integrated wealth solutions and to actively grow assets under management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, finance, economics, or related field.
• CFA or CFP progress preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of securities research and evaluation experience with client-facing portfolio construction.

Responsibilities

• Support research and due diligence for securities, funds, ETFs, managed accounts, and third-party managers with recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Develop and monitor investment lists, model portfolios, and asset allocation strategies with performance, risk, and fee evaluations.
• Serve as a wealth advisor to HNW/UHNW clients and coordinate comprehensive financial planning and customized portfolios.
• Prepare Investment Policy Statements and ensure portfolios align with client objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon, and tax considerations.
• Conduct regular client reviews, prepare performance reports and market commentaries, and communicate strategy and results.
• Collaborate with trust officers and bankers to provide integrated wealth solutions (estate, retirement, tax, charitable planning).
• Participate in business development by prospecting and converting opportunities into new relationships and assets under management.
• Monitor economic conditions, markets, and trends and contribute to market outlooks and client education materials.
• Oversee rebalancing, trade recommendations, and cash management with operations for accurate execution.
• Ensure fiduciary standards and compliance with Regulation 9 and bank policies; support audits.
• Evaluate and recommend investment research, portfolio management, and reporting tools to improve efficiency.
• Mentor junior staff and support growth of the Trust & Wealth Management platform.
