Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH seeks a Specialist, Investment Accounting to lead complex accounting for investment reporting, GAAP and regulatory deliverables. You will prepare financial statements, data analyses, and support audit coordination.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, taxation implications and investment systems is essential. The role offers hybrid work (2 days in office, 3 remote), collaboration across teams, and opportunities to improve processes while mentoring

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in accounting, finance or business administration.
• CPA studies desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement new or revised investment accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and analyze the most complex financial and regulatory statements for the company or assigned areas.
• Maintain complex investment accounting records for coordination and submission of reports.
• Develop and submit complex investment accounting transactions for proper reporting.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all reports and data for internal/external clients.
• Recommend actions when analysis shows unfavorable trends or deviations.
• Stay informed of changes to GAAP/regulatory requirements affecting reporting.
• Participate in design of complex new systems and processes.
• Recommend changes to improve areas of responsibility and workflow.
• Own development/design of new/enhanced systems and processes within areas.
• Prepare pro forma data for new requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Assist management in applying financial data to solve problems.
• Prepare state and supplemental reporting as required.
• Prepare reports for auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare special reports/presentations as directed.
• Lead investment accountants on selected projects.
