The New York City Department of Investigation (“DOI”) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country, with a mission of combating municipal corruption. It functions as an independent, nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, and entities receiving City funds.
DOI's Squad 10 oversees agencies including the Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). The Senior Investigative Attorney will report to the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations and conduct confidential investigations into corruption, fraud, and waste involving these agencies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive legal writing experience, including drafting reports, case referrals, subpoenas, and legal correspondence.
