Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials in Morris Plains, NJ, is seeking an Inventory Planning Principal to lead the inventory strategy and SIOP across the network. You will partner with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, and Finance to balance service levels, cost, and working capital while driving continuous improvement in planning performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in inventory planning or related fields, with strong knowledge of inventory optimization, ABC/XYZ

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 8 years of experience in inventory planning, materials management, production planning, or supply chain management
• Strong knowledge of inventory optimization, safety stock strategies, ABC segmentation, and excess and obsolete inventory management
• Strong analytical skills including advanced Excel skills and experience using visualization tools like Power BI
• Ability to coach and guide supply planner peers, influence across functional boundaries, and inform senior leaders
• Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in face-paced environment
• Ability to travel up to 15% as needed

Responsibilities

• Inventory Strategy & Optimization
• Develop and govern inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and planning parameters
• Optimize inventory targets across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Lead segmentation methodologies to inform differentiated inventory strategies
• Conduct root-cause analyses of inventory drivers and lead corrective actions
• Planning Excellence
• Partner with Demand Planning and Supply Planning teams for accurate forecasting
• Lead inventory scenario modeling for supply constraints and forecast volatility
• Support SIOP with forward-looking inventory insights and actions
• Performance Management
• Own inventory KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decisions
• Cross-Functional Leadership
• Collaborate with Commercial teams to align inventory with customer requirements
• Partner with Operations and Procurement to optimize replenishment and production cycles
• Influence senior leadership with insights on inventory risk and improvements
• Continuous Improvement
• Drive best practices in inventory planning and automation
• Lead process improvements to reduce variability and improve working capital
• Mentor planners and analysts across the planning organization
