Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an Inventory Clerk to manage and maintain software replenishment systems and ensure department expectations are met while optimizing inventory and par levels. The role involves stocking, distribution of incoming supplies and equipment, and inventory management across assigned areas.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma or GED with at least one year of stocking or distribution experience, and familiarity with hospital supply operations,

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and one year of experience stocking, loading, replenishing or distributing inventory.
• Must have hospital supply work experience.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, and inventory management methods and procedures.
• Ability to review inventory utilization analysis reports.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with staff and upper-level management.
• Communications skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Auditing and management of replenishment system and resolution of issues.
• Operates replenishment system software and programs according to policy and procedures.
• Facilitates physical setup of area including scales, controllers, downloaders, probes, shelf registration, mobile cart and computers.
• Monitors and reports expired stock and improper stock rotation, identifies issues and seeks resolution.
• Demonstrates ability to ensure TIC compliance for stock storage.
• Stocks, maintains and controls inventory of supplies for assigned areas according to policy and procedures.
• Delivers and verifies incoming shipments and/or materials to assigned destinations according to policy and procedures.
• Orders required supplies for assigned areas according to policies and procedures.
• Places purchase requisitions for special orders stock items as required according to policies and procedures.
• In absence of a supervisor may act as shift team lead, assigning work responsibilities and following up on task completion.
• Opens, picks, closes and distributes internal orders according to policy and procedures.
• Adheres to required hospital standards relative to internal policies, OSHA, TIC and department policies.
• Assists with changes in the automated inventory system, adding/removing items from par locations, and adjusting par levels.
• Creates and submits daily system tracking report for all changes
