Job summary

University Health is seeking a dedicated inventory control professional to independently manage all aspects of inventory on assigned units. You will work closely with Materials Management and clinical teams to optimize stock levels, reduce costs, and maintain patient-ready equipment, while ensuring proper cleaning of medical devices.

Candidates should have at least two years in supply operations with inventory control experience, and be proficient with automated inventory systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years experience in supply operations plus inventory control background preferred.
• Familiarity with automated inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, numbers, PAR levels and statistical data.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage all aspects of inventory management and control on assigned units.
• Collaborate with Materials Management, Clinical and Nursing staff to optimize cost savings and inventory flow.
• Prevent overstocking and excessive informal inventories.
• Ensure cleaning of medical equipment that touches patients.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibility will be to proactively manage all aspects of the inventory management and control function independently, effectively, accurately and in a timely manner on the assigned unit(s). Interacts favorably with all Materials Management, Clinical and Nursing personnel to achieve optimum cost savings, inventory flow, control and prevention of overstocking and excessive informal inventories. Will be responsible for cleaning any medical equipment that touches a patient. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of two years experience in supply operations plus inventory control background is preferred. Familiarity with automated inventory systems is preferred. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand oral and written instructions, numbers, PAR levels and statistical data is essential.
