Job summary

MaintainX is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to own the intelligence layer behind our Parts Agent. You’ll build optimization and ML models, design inventory intelligence, and expose tools through APIs so the agent can act with explainable grounding.

You’ll collaborate with product/design, iterate with real users, and contribute to the Python services that run the inventory runtime. Strong OR/IE background and GenAI tooling experience are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering or data science experience in optimization, forecasting, or ML systems shipped to real users.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve optimization and ML models powering Parts Agent capabilities (reorder point, EOQ, multi-site stock balancing, demand forecasting).
• Design inventory intelligence (lead time modeling, safety stock, substitution graph, stockout alerts).
• Build APIs and tools to expose models to GenAI workflows for grounded actions.
