Job summary

ShipBob is recruiting a Senior AI Product Builder focused on Inventory Optimization. You will own the AI-driven product loop from discovery to production PR, coordinating with an AI-native pod to design, prototype, and ship improvements to the inventory placement and replenishment decisions that power merchants’ fulfillment networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management, product engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to write story/specs that AI tools can act on directly — state machines, business rules, data contracts.
• Technical fluency: read a data model, evaluate API contracts, and identify AI-generated code deviations from target architecture.
• Track record of shipping working prototypes or production code, not just diagrams or slides.
• Good outcome ownership: set success metrics and kill thresholds at spec time and track them after launch.
• Experience working in supply chain, fulfillment, logistics, or e-commerce technology.
• Comfortable operating in a fail-fast culture.

Responsibilities

• Own the full product loop end-to-end: discovery → story/spec → prototype → production PR → outcome measurement.
• Own forecasting, placement, and replenishment surfaces end-to-end; define contracts and measure adoption and forecast accuracy.
• Run customer discovery; synthesize research across tickets, interviews, data, and signals.
• Demo products to merchants and partners; understand competitive differentiators.
• Use AI tools to analyze metrics, identify usage patterns, and surface anomalies; define kill thresholds at spec time.
• Maintain a prioritized roadmap balanced by impact and speed.
• Evaluate fit to ShipBob’s architecture and data contracts; understand service boundaries.
• Route changes through prototype-then-PR and write clear story/specs.
