Job summary

MaintainX, now part of Autodesk, seeks a Senior Applied Scientist to own the intelligence layer behind our Parts Agent. You will design optimization and ML models for inventory planning, multi-site stock balancing, and demand forecasting, shipping iteratively with real users and integrating with GenAI workflows.

You'll collaborate with product and design, shape data models, and ensure the reliability of the inventory intelligence runtime in a production Python service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in optimization, forecasting, or ML systems shipped to real users.
• Strong grounding in optimization paradigms (LP/MILP, stochastic programming or simulation).
• Solid Python service engineering: APIs, async, testing, observability.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve optimization and ML models for inventory planning and Parts Agent capabilities.
• Design inventory intelligence with vendor lead time modeling, safety stock, and stockout alerting.
• Build and maintain APIs and tools exposing models to GenAI workflows.
• Collaborate with PM and design to translate real-world inventory problems into tractable models.
• Iterate with real users through design partnerships and pilot deployments.
