Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Inventory Coordinator to oversee cost-effective maintenance of hospital inventory across facilities, ensuring usage maximization and expense minimization. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Typically requires 5 years of experience in inventory management and distribution in a health care setting.
• Working knowledge of computerized purchasing and/or materials management/distribution systems.
• Excellent communication, human relations, and analytical skills; able to communicate with all levels of health care personnel.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented; basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains cost effective maintenance and monitoring programs for inventory.
• Establishes a follow-up program to monitor the effectiveness of the supply systems.
• Coordinates inventory quantities across sites utilizing ASLMC Services.
• Serves as main contact for inquiries involving inventory transferred between facilities.
• Resolves procurement issues, including vendor disputes and invoice discrepancies.
• Reviews and recommends changes to base Inventory data levels.
• Gives recommendations on inventory levels and consolidation opportunities.
• Maintains product catalogs and electronic catalogs for all products.
• Develops and maintains systems to track inventory age and vendor exchanges.
• Collaborates with Corporate Purchasing to review purchase requisitions and place orders.
• Regularly produces and reviews usage and cost reports for management.
• Identifies product standardization and cost saving opportunities.
• Provides analytical data to support recommendations.
• Coordinates activities associated with product conversions.
• Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
• Verifies and reconciles vendor credits and exchanges of product.
