Job summary

Starbucks Corp. is hiring a Senior Accountant for International & Channel Development Accounting. You will own complex accounting processes, drive accurate reporting, strengthen controls, and lead automation and analytics initiatives across global markets.

The role partners with international finance, tax, treasury, legal, and cross-functional teams to support growth, improve efficiency, and deliver high-quality financial insight. 5+ years of experience and CPA-friendly credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting international accounting, royalty accounting, billing processes, intercompany transactions, or multinational operations.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects or process improvement efforts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and business partnering skills across functions and global teams.
• Experience driving process improvements via automation, technology, and data-driven insights.
• Experience with ERP/financial systems such as Oracle, BlackLine, SAP, or similar.
• Experience with data analytics and AI-enabled tools (Incorta, Power BI, Copilot).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for International & Channel Development accounting areas.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting documentation per U.S. GAAP.
• Own royalty accounting and international billing processes, invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting for international licenses and channel development.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and risks, and communicate insights to partners and leadership.
• Partner with international finance teams, tax, treasury, legal, and stakeholders to support initiatives and resolve accounting matters.
• Support assessments for new business models, licensing programs, and strategic initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure SOX compliance.
• Drive process improvements via data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
• Develop process docs, training materials, and best practices across the accounting team.
• Support internal and external audit activities and provide accounting research as needed.
• Provide guidance to team members and foster knowledge sharing.
