Job summary

Swiss Re is seeking an international property underwriter in San Francisco or Los Angeles to manage a portfolio of fronted global property programs and underwrite exposures including Nat Cat hazards.

The role requires a strong broker and client network in the West region, leadership of projects, and coaching of junior underwriters. Travel may be needed; check alignment with underwriting strategy while supporting a hybrid office model.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-10 years' experience as an underwriter (medium to large corporate accounts).
• Experience in structuring and fronting global programs preferred.
• Knowledge of Nat Cat and man-made risk management is important.
• Strong broker and client network in the local region.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts including fronted global property programs.
• Analyze and underwrite exposures including Natural Catastrophe hazards.
• Assess insurability for new submissions and renewals.
• Prepare quotations, structure programs and proposals per guidelines.
• Use Swiss Re tools and systems for terms and conditions.
• Enter and maintain risk information in information systems.
