Job summary

Tutor seeks a senior software engineer to own internal systems and the data model that power manufacturing, tutoring, deployment, and sales tools. You will influence a shared schema for robots, sites, customers, parts, jobs, and people and guide AI agents to build and maintain internal software across the stack, including PLM and MES customizations.

You'll spend time on the factory floor and deployment calls, working with field teams to ensure data is accurate, timely, and accessible for weekly

Qualifications

• Six+ years building production software with ownership of internal or operational systems.
• Relational data modeling with migrations and a shared schema used by multiple teams.
• Full-stack fluency with TypeScript/React on the frontend and Python/TypeScript on the backend.
• Comfort working with operations teams and engineers to translate processes into software.
• Experience with AI coding agents and guiding their use in real engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Own the shared data model: definitions of robots, sites, customers, parts, jobs, and people.
• Own internal systems: maintenance tickets, service history, work orders, tutoring queues, deployments.
• Turn workflows into software by understanding the process with the people doing the work.
• Keep operations data trustworthy by reconciling systems and replacing spreadsheets.
• Build with AI agents: direct agents across a large codebase and review outputs.
• Support users with same-day help and fix processes when tools fail.
