Job summary

Tutor designs and builds its robots and software, and this role owns the shared data model and the internal systems that support day‑to‑day operations across maintenance, manufacturing, tutoring, deployment, and sales. You will also shape how AI coding agents interact with a large internal codebase, ensuring the interfaces and data stay robust as the company grows.

We seek a senior engineer with 6+ years of production software experience, strong data modeling, and full‑stack fluency

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production software and owning a system relied on daily operations.
• Data modeling of a relational schema with migrations; PostgreSQL experience.
• Full‑stack fluency: TypeScript/React on front end; Python/TypeScript on back end.
• Comfort with AI coding agents and guiding their work in a large codebase.
• Judgment to build when appropriate and to buy when it makes sense.

Responsibilities

• Own the shared data model: robots, sites, customers, parts, jobs, and people.
• Own the internal systems each operations function runs on (maintenance, manufacturing, tutoring, deployment, sales handoff).
• Turn work processes into software by collaborating with operators on workflows.
• Keep operations data trustworthy by reconciling systems and replacing spreadsheets.
• Build with AI agents: guide, review, and refine agent output across a large codebase.
• Support users with same‑day answers and process improvements when tools fail.
