Job summary

Quartermaster is hiring a Senior Internal Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate internal platform infrastructure across AWS and Azure, focusing on reliability, observability, and security.

You will partner with engineering and security to improve GitOps delivery, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes operations, observability, and edge networking for IoT, streaming, and ML workloads in remote sensor systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure/platform/SRE with production ownership.
• Deep Azure experience, incl. Azure Gov preferred for security/regulation.
• Practical AWS experience with IoT services and data streams (Kinesis).
• Kubernetes operations at expert level; Helm proficiency.
• Strong GitOps background; focus on safe, fast delivery.
• IaC expertise with OpenTofu/Terraform and policy workflows.
• Observability platforms (Grafana) and telemetry best practices.
• Experience with edge networking and remote sensor data pipelines.
• Experience ML/AI workloads in secure cloud/edge environments.
• Security depth: IAM, zero trust, secrets, encryption, policy as code.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operate secure, multi-environment infra across AWS, AWS Gov, Azure, and Azure Gov.
• Build GitOps pipelines and reusable modules with CI validation.
• Operate Kubernetes platforms and improve reliability via SLOs and postmortems.
• Develop observability with Grafana and modern telemetry (metrics/logs/traces).
• Operate edge networking and IoT/streaming pipelines for remote sensors.
• Support secure ML workloads and strengthen platform security controls.
