Job summary

The U.S. House of Representatives is seeking a seasoned marketing and communications professional to lead strategic campaigns on Capitol Hill. You will craft engaging content, coordinate with internal teams, and manage stakeholder outreach across multiple audiences.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in political or public sector communications, strong project management skills, and a solid grasp of web and digital marketing best practices. This on-site role is based in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Communications, Advertising, Marketing; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a marketing/communications role on Capitol Hill, with an advertising agency, marketing firm, or communications department.
  • Experience with stakeholder relations, internal and external communications, public outreach, and communications planning.
  • Solid foundational skills including collaboration and communicative work ethic, ability to juggle several projects, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to oversee complex communications campaigns on a broad range of topics to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to independently create clear, engaging content.
  • Record of developing and implementing effective strategic communications strategy.
  • Solid understanding of current web trends and marketing best practices.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g.: ClickUp, Monday, Trello, etc.)
  • Experience with interactive marketing campaign management and tracking.
  • Outstanding communications skills, both verbal and written; proficiency in creating concise copy.
  • Strong project management and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
