Job summary

The U.S. House of Representatives Office of Communications seeks a Communications Support Specialist to join a small, cross-functional creative services team in Washington, DC.

This generalist role supports content development, design, and project coordination with opportunities to learn new tools and processes. The position requires at least one communications discipline, strong writing and organizational skills, and a bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional experience in at least one communications discipline (writing/editing, visual communications, or project coordination).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work with colleagues, clients, vendors, and senior staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, multimedia, public relations, or related field; two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communications projects from intake through completion by gathering information and tracking assignments.
  • Maintain and update publications, websites, presentations, and other communications products using approved templates.
  • Provide editorial, design, multimedia, production, and related support on various projects.
  • Support production equipment, supplies, and inventory management.
  • Organize and maintain project files, templates, archives, and digital assets.
