Job summary

The City and County of Denver seeks a Senior Internal Auditor to conduct operational, financial, IT and compliance audits across the organization. You will apply IPPF guidelines and collaborate with DEN leadership to deliver value.

Hybrid role with on-site 3 days per week at a location near Denver International Airport; Colorado residency required for off-site days. 3–5 years of audit experience and CPA/CIA/CISA/CFE/CCE certifications welcomed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of internal auditing experience.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or CCE.
• Experience with data analytics software and artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint.
• Ability to work in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify project scope, milestones, and schedules.
• Present the project plan to Audit and Business Leadership.
• Perform planning activities, inquiry, research, data analysis, risk assessment.
• Develop and apply audit procedures to test controls and address risks.
• Prepare audit work papers with findings, recommendations, and comments.
• Interact with DEN Leadership and vendors as needed.
• Present the Audit Report with action plans to leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
