Job summary

Denver Auditor's Office is seeking an Associate Internal Auditor to perform performance audits and evaluations of City and County of Denver programs, ensuring adherence to GAAS and internal policies. The role involves collaboration with the Audit Manager and team, data analytics, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

The position supports a hybrid work schedule with office presence in Downtown Denver and remote work, requiring residence in Colorado near the Denver metropolitan area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and one year of professional auditing experience.
• Experience with GAO GAGAS standards and data analytics is preferred.
• Professional certifications (CPA/CGAP/CIA/CRMA or similar) are valued.

Responsibilities

• Conduct performance audits and evaluations of city/county departments, contracts, and programs.
• Assist Audit Manager and Team Lead with planning, fieldwork, reporting and presenting results to the public.
• Identify and apply audit methodologies and internal controls to assess effectiveness and efficiency.
