Job summary

Coinbase Internal Audit Senior Associate is a key member of the Internal Audit team within Finance. You will execute risk-based operational and compliance audits across global operations, partnering with cross-functional teams and regulators to strengthen controls.

The role demands 5+ years in audit or risk management in financial services, AML/CFT knowledge, and data analytics (SQL). You will interact with senior leadership and ensure timely remediation and reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal audit, external audit, compliance testing, or risk management in financial services.
• Ability to independently execute audits end-to-end with regulator-ready documentation.
• Experience with AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection requirements.
• Experience managing multiple audit workstreams and deadlines, including coordination with co-sourced resources.
• Familiarity with data analytics techniques (SQL) and leveraging technology to improve audit efficiency.
• Proficiency in applying professional certifications or progress toward one.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end operational and compliance audits, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and remediation validation.
• Own audit request tracking, open item management, and testing status with updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify control gaps, perform root cause analysis, and draft risk-based recommendations.
• Lead audit reporting with clear, concise, and actionable summaries for senior leadership and regulators.
• Validate remediation of prior findings and ensure closure evidence is sufficient.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal while maintaining independence.
