Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an Interior Systems Engineer to lead concept development and design of cabin systems across development stages. You will conceive, design, engineer, and support the launch of interior components for full vehicles.

You will develop hard trim system requirements, targets for function and cost, create 3D geometry, balance materials and manufacturing, and ensure GD&T, collaborating across design, manufacturing, and suppliers to deliver optimized solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education.
• 5+ years designing interior subsystems and parts.
• 3+ years using 3D CAD software (NX, Catia, 3DX).
• 2+ years of team lead experience.
• 1+ year in production release process.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop Hard Trim System requirements and specs with cross-functional teams.
• Set vehicle-aligned targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs balancing constructability and manufacturability.
• Optimize designs with analyses and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Deliver craftsmanship and GD&T through proper implementation.
• Drive new construction techniques to production feasibility.
• Communicate with Studio, Packaging, Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers.
