Job summary

Ford EVDD seeks an Interior Systems Engineer to lead concept development and detailed design of cabin components. You will drive the launch of interior subsystems, collaborating with design, supply chain, and manufacturing to meet performance, cost and weight targets.

You will work in a hybrid environment, applying CAD expertise and cross-functional leadership to deliver innovative, production-ready solutions for the vehicle interiors and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years designing, developing, and releasing interior subsystems.
• 3+ years using 3D CAD software (NX, Catia, 3DX).
• 2+ years of team lead experience; 1+ year in production release.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop Hard Trim System requirements and specs with design, supply chain and core teams.
• Set targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs for crash load cases balancing material/manufacturing methods.
• Optimize concepts with analyses and physical tests respecting federal regulations.
• Deliver world-class craftsmanship and fit/finish via GD&T.
• Develop and study novel construction techniques and drive production feasibility.
• Communicate across Studio, Packaging, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
