Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers, Inc in San Mateo, CA is seeking an experienced Interior Designer who combines creative design with client-facing sales to drive high-end residential projects.

You will lead client consultations, present design concepts with authority, coordinate with project teams, and source custom fixtures from Bay Area vendors; a strong sales track record and mobility across San Mateo County are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years interior design experience in a design-build firm, custom home builder, or high-end residential studio.
• Demonstrated ability to close deals, upsell design services, and communicate project scope and value.
• Strong command of space planning, finishes, and construction detailing; knowledge of Bay Area styles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead initial client consultations, articulate design visions with confidence, and guide contract execution for high-end residential projects.
• Space planning, material and finish selection, cabinetry layout, lighting design, and detailing for kitchens, baths, and entire homes.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to align design with budget and timelines.
• Manage client relationships from concept through completion as the primary contact.
• Source fixtures, tile, stone, cabinetry, and soft goods from Bay Area vendors.
