Job description

An acclaimed, design driven residential studio on Manhattan's Upper East Side is seeking a Senior Designer to join its close-knit team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be hands on in designing and delivering refined residential interiors across New York - the studios projects regularly appear in the pages of Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, Town & Country, House Beautiful and more.

Listed in the AD100, the studio is known for interiors that strike a confident balance between timeless and contemporary aesthetics.

This is an outstanding platform for a technically strong, detail obsessed Senior Designer who wants Principal level exposure, true ownership of high profile projects, and a portfolio built upon some of the best addresses on the East Coast.

You'll partner directly with the Principals across the full arc of a project, from first concept through the final install. You'll also lead multiple high-end residential engagements simultaneously while providing steady oversight to keep design intent, budget, and schedule all moving in the right direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Principals from programming through construction administration, leading multiple luxury residential projects with full ownership of quality, budgets, and timelines
  • Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and artisans to ensure seamless execution from design through completion
  • Source, specify, and procure furniture, antiques, lighting, textiles, and finishes - developing FF&E plans, specs, and full procurement documentation aligned with vision and budget
  • Oversee custom fabrication and decorative procurement end-to-end, from pricing through delivery, installation and closeout
  • Lead on-site installation coordination and prepare client and Principal-facing presentations, keeping all documentation, schedules, and budgets accurate and current

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design
  • 7–10 years of professional interior design experience, including 5+ years in high-end residential design at the Senior Designer / Project Manager level
  • Strong command of NYC's luxury furnishings and trade resources
  • Track record managing luxury residential construction (new build and renovation) with regular, hands‑on site presence
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Design Manager
  • Strong graphic presentation and hand‑sketching skills (Rhino or Revit rendering ability is a bonus)
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills
  • A discreet, and reliable presence - comfortable representing the studio directly with high-net-worth clients
  • Valid driver's license, with flexibility to travel to project sites

So why apply for this role with this studio?

You'll have direct, regular collaboration with the Principals with exposure to product design and brand collaboration. Joining a friendly, quality driven studio, you'll be among talented and experienced peers while gaining exposure to a portfolio of architecturally significant, editorially celebrated residences.

Salary range for this role is based on the experience you'll bring to the team but will be within the range of $110,000 - $150,000 pa.

Applicants must have the Right To Work in the States without any sponsorship requirement.

While we try to follow up on all applications, it's not always possible to do so. Applications from those who are best matched to the role requirements will be prioritized as this is an urgent hiring need.
