Protouch Staffing seeks an Intermediate Interior Designer to join a design-focused studio in New York. The role involves taking ownership of interiors projects from concept to installation under senior designers, developing presentations, coordinating with consultants, and managing details and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in high-end residential or luxury interiors, strong AutoCAD and design software skills, and a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of professional interior design experience.
  • Experience with high-end residential, luxury interiors, commercial, or similarly detail-oriented projects preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant interior design experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of interior design projects from concept through final installation.
  • Develop design presentations including concept boards, FF&E selections, materials palettes.
  • Produce accurate AutoCAD drawings: floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans.
  • Detail interior architecture and custom millwork: built-ins, paneling, kitchens, vanities, lighting.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators, and consultants.
  • Conduct site surveys and document existing conditions.
  • Coordinate installations and resolve field conditions throughout projects.
  • Specify and source furniture, finishes, fixtures, and other design elements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, pricing, samples, orders, and lead times.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project schedules and budgets and overall coordination.
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and personable manner.
  • Review and guide junior designers when needed.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and accurate design communication.
  • Utilize AI and technology tools to improve research, sourcing, and workflow while maintaining design judgment.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Interior Designer to join a design-focused studio specializing in high-end residential, luxury apartment, development, and commercial interiors. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with several years of experience who is ready to take greater ownership of projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing day-to-day project responsibilities from concept through installation while working under the creative direction and mentorship of senior designers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of assigned interior design projects from concept through final installation
  • Develop complete design presentations, including concept boards, FF&E selections, materials palettes, and finish selections
  • Produce accurate and well-coordinated AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans
  • Design and detail interior architecture and custom millwork, including built-ins, paneling, kitchens, vanities, stair details, and integrated lighting
  • Coordinate interior architectural details with architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators, and other consultants
  • Conduct site surveys and document existing conditions
  • Coordinate installations and assist with resolving field conditions throughout the project
  • Specify and source furniture, finishes, fixtures, and other design elements
  • Manage vendor relationships, pricing, samples, orders, and lead times
  • Coordinate directly with vendors, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • Approximately 3-5 years of professional interior design experience
  • Experience with high-end residential, luxury interiors, commercial, or similarly detail-oriented projects preferred
  • Ability to independently manage day-to-day project responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with SketchUp and 3D rendering software is a plus
  • Strong understanding of interior architecture, FF&E, materials, millwork, and detailing
  • Excellent eye for detail, scale, proportion, and design aesthetics
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Positive, collaborative, and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing new technology and AI-based design tools
  • Strong interest in design and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant interior design experience is required
