Job summary

SmithGroup, an award-winning design firm, is seeking a Senior Interior Designer for our San Francisco office. You will lead design efforts across all project stages, coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams, and mentor junior staff.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design, 10+ years of experience, and a professional registration. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is required; LEED AP is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience.
  • Architectural or Interior Design registration required.
  • LEED AP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design efforts for all project stages with clients, contractors and internal team.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, production, quality and fees.
  • Lead programming and development of strategic design solutions.
  • Consult with manufacturers; evaluate materials.
  • Document architectural drawings and construction details.
  • Support construction administration and site visits for information gathering.
  • Oversee design work of staff and ensure cohesive outcomes and standards.
  • Lead programming and workplace standards across projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching.
  • Assist in recruitment and interviewing processes.
