Job summary

HOK in Chicago is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to interpret, organize and execute conceptual design for a diverse range of projects including offices, airports and hospitals. You will lead space planning, coordinate with vendors, manage budgets, and ensure design solutions meet client goals and codes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design, 5+ years of experience, and NCIDQ or architecture license with LEED credential within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design or foreign equivalent.
• 5+ years as an Interior Designer in a design/architecture/engineering setting.
• Must be a professional Interior Designer with NCIDQ or licensed Architect.
• LEED credential required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, organizes and executes conceptual design for projects.
• Leads space planning, layout and furnishings coordination.
• Manages contracts, budgeting, scheduling, design, documentation and construction.
• Maintains client relationships and coordinates with vendors and contractors.
• Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D/3D drawings.
• Ensures project on schedule and compliance with standards.
