Job summary

NBBJ Design in New York seeks a Senior Interior Designer to lead project design, collaborate with Architects, Medical and Lab Planners, BIM Integration Leaders, and Urban Planners from programming through construction.

In addition to design leadership, you will mentor junior talent and help grow the studio. The role balances hands-on production with strategic oversight in a highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program (Master’s or Bachelor’s).
• 12+ years of professional experience in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture.
• Experience on complex healthcare projects across design phases is preferred.
• Architectural or interior design licensure a plus; LEED accreditation or near/within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Be a champion of design excellence across the firm, leading our practice in setting new standards for innovation and impact.
• Lead design processes for multiple scales and complexities, from concept through documentation and CA, individually or with a team.
