Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

• Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time position based in New York City, with some flexibility for work from home. This role is responsible for leading interior design projects from concept through completion, including developing design schemes, overseeing space planning, and coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing construction drawings, selecting and specifying materials, managing project timelines and budgets, and guiding junior/intermediate designers both in studio and on job sites. The Senior Interior Designer will participate in client meetings and presentations, ensure that design solutions meet functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements, and uphold Pembrooke & Ives design standards across all deliverables. The role requires strong project ownership, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Confident, personable presence with clients: leads presentations and design meetings, and steers challenging conversations toward resolution.
• Possesses knowledge of high-end luxury interior design. Follows and speaks to current industry trends on space, function, materials, finishes, lighting, audio visual, plumbing etc.
• High-level understanding of project deliverables, including the drawing sets, specifications, and schedules issued at each phase
• Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam).
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and communicate design concepts clearly in both written and verbal form.
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of demonstrated work experience with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.

Salary Range

$105,000.00 - $135,000.00+ (depending on experience) + Performance-Based Bonus
